Satellites: Miracles of the Sky

When you look at the sky, what do you imagine? Do you dream about being close to the stars just to see how they look like? If you have a mad scientist streak in you, you could be wondering more about space travel to find out how an MSAT satellite works. It’s just amazing to know that machines that are thousands of miles from Earth are still able to reach us in some way. They have important contributions to our daily lives, which frankly makes them miracles that orbit the planet.
They Help Predict the Weather
Being a human standing on the face of the Earth only gives you a tiny fraction of what exists out there. After all, you are just a speck compared to the rest of the world. But then you might wonder why its images exist in encyclopedias. Some satellites carry powerful sensors, and these are the machines that take a snapshot of the globe. But it is not limited to that. They can also provide other information, like temperature, topology, and level of radiation. These make them capable of seeing that is beyond physical. In fact, these instruments can be used to predict the weather. While no one can be 100% accurate in telling how the weather will be for the next day, the visuals can at least show that something is brewing somewhere. There is no other way you can make such an elaborate and scientific guess.
They Enhance Communications
People used to be happy after finally getting their trunk lines installed. Hours of talk time have been spent by them being tethered to their telephones. These days, smartphones are the norm, and they do more than just voice calls. They are mini-computers that also allow you to send text messages, play multimedia files, and browse the internet. But there is the lingering problem of having dead spots. This could be a specific area where you are unable to get a cellular signal. Without it, you would not be able to connect to anyone. It could get tricky if you get to a place where the coverage is so bad that you would go to great lengths to get even one bar of signal strength.
Satellite phones are different. Smartphones rely on a network of towers that transmit the cellular signal. The nearer you are to one, the stronger your reception will be. Since satellite transmitters are located outside of our atmosphere, it means they can send to and receive signals from satellite phones from a wider area. This makes them an ideal communication tool for the Army, for they can sometimes be destined to far-off locations.
They Bring Entertainment to Everyone
Satellites can also bring entertainment to everyone. They have been a big part of the TV industry, as they are instrumental in bringing people shows from other parts of the globe that they otherwise would not get with terrestrial antennas. The same goes for radio, where they can provide crystal clear audio without worrying about poor reception. You can say that satellites also helped contribute to the age of globalization.
They may be far out, but satellites are working non-stop to connect you with other people and provide you with how the Earth is doing. No matter where you are, you are somehow benefitting from their functions. So even though you are this small dot on the map, these machines in the sky can pass on to you a tremendous amount of knowledge about this planet.
